Cerro Azul Meamber National Park

TopicNational Park
CitySanta Barbara
DepartmentSanta Barbara
Size400 square kilometers
TopographyCloud Forest
DescriptionThere are 3 trails- the longest takes 4 hours and incoporates a few waterfalls, a great view, and lush cloud forest. The shortest walk is 15 minutes, and ends at a small waterfall. There are cabins by the visitors center, and I would recommend staying at the park overnight, given how hard it is to find transportation in the afternoon. It costs $3 to enter the park.
GettingFor the Los Pinos entrance: You should leave early if you don't have your own car. Take a bus to the small town of La Guama. From there, you can easily catch a minivan that goes up to a pupuseria 4.5 kilometers from the visitors center. It can be almost impossible to find transportation going up or down from there, though if you ask around/leave early in the morning you might be able to catch an Aldea Global bus going or coming.
