Compartir is a non-profit organization that works in peri-urban communities to support broken families, address lack of basic services, ensure individual security, and promote employment and education. Compartir works directly with children suffering malnutrition that lack opportunities. Compartir works to prevent children from opting to move to the streets as a means of survival. As a complement to the counseling, tutoring and other social services provided directly to children and youth, the agency also makes occupational training, family planning, daycare and other services available to parents and family members, enabling them to be better providers and caretakers. Asociación Ecológica de San Marcos de Ocotepeque (AESMO)

AESMO is an NGO founded April 28, 1990 to train poor farmers in the departments of Ocotepeque and Fransisco Morazán in environmentally-sustainable production. Cabildo Infantil / Childrens Congress

About 5,000 children from the whole municipality of Copán Ruinas participate in this program in which they receive 10 workshops about a different theme each year (so far: childrens rights and the stucture of the city council, the environment, values). The results of these workshops (drawings, stories, poetry, charts, maps etc.) are put together in a handmade book along with a project proposal of something the children would like to change in their community. Each small village or neighbourhood sends an elected child to the yearly Childrens Congress where they receive workshops and share experiences with other children. The 12 young members of the Childrens Council, elected during the First Childrens Congres in 2002, work during the rest of the year on developing these projects. For more information click here. Conservation Project Utila Iguana

The Utila Iguana is an emblematic endangered island species with a fragile mangrove habitat. The Conservation Project runs a field research station with exhibitions, guided tours, and environmental education in local schools to raise public awareness of the fragile environment of the tropical island of Utila. We want to preserve the Utila Iguana in its natural environment and show that economical and social development and nature conservation can go hand in hand. Además de estas áreas de acción, tenemos tres (3) ejes transversales: El enfoque de género, la investigación y la divulgación de los derechos de la niñez; los cuales son trabajados por cada una de las comisiones. Estas comisiones de trabajo se forman en asambleas generales en forma voluntaria, de acuerdo a las preferencias de sus miembros, su duración es de dos años, en tiempos equiparado a la duración del Comité Directivo. La sede (oficina de Coiproden) actúa como un consejo de asistentes técnicos, quienes se guían por el principio de trabajo democrático, participativo y colectivo y se cuenta con el equipamiento mínimo necesario para el funcionamiento de la Red. The Federation de Asociaciones Femeninas Hondurenas (FADH) is an umbrella group of women's service organizations. Prior to 1979, it sporadically provided legal assistance to its member groups. Foro Nacional de SIDA

The Foro Nacional de SIDA (National AIDS Forum) is a multisectoral association created to support and facilitate the efforts, programs, projects and activities that the community and government of Honduras conduct in the area of HIV/AIDS. At the same time, the Foro Nacional de SIDA has created a political, technical, social, and financial structure in collaboration with the Secretary of Health, the National Commission for AIDS (CONASIDA) and the National Strategic Plan for AIDS (PENSIDA). The Foro Nacional has broad representation in its General Assembly. Membership is open to all government organizations, non-government organizations, individuals involved directly or indirectly with HIV/AIDS work, donor agencies, and diplomatic bodies. The organization was created by a group of biologists and business owners who are dedicated to the conservation of the Cuero and Salado wildlifee refuge. Cuero and Salado is a manatee and wildlife sanctuary near La Ceiba. FUCSA works to integrate conservation and social economic development of the 86 families who live on the reserve. Medical Eye and Dental International Care Organization (MEDICO)

MEDICO is a nonprofit humanitarian service organization serving in Central America since 1990. Since that time, 90 mission brigades have served 130,000 people who have little or no access to medical care.
